Antenatal Care Visits
Each of your antenatal visits occurs in the comfort of your own home.
Care is tailored specifically to your needs and wishes, and each visit is usually around 1.5 hours duration. During these visits, Meg will become familiar with you and your family, and will develop a deep understanding of what is important to you.
All of your antenatal pathology and ultrasounds can be arranged and followed up by Meg.
Labour and Birth
Maia Midwifery provides full scope of practice, including Homebirth and some limited hospital birth support. A second midwife will be arranged for you (this is a legal requirement for all planned homebirths in Australia) or you can arrange your own if you prefer.
Meg will be with you throughout your labour and birth and will work with you to help you achieve the birth you are dreaming of. We also offer water birth and have birth pools available for hire.
Meg will usually visit you the day after you have your baby, then again on day 3, day 5 and day 7. Visits then usually become weekly, then fortnightly until 7 weeks. This is flexible and you are able to have as many or as few post natal visits as you need.
Your post natal visits will include health checks of both you and your baby, breastfeeding and early parenting support and education. This extended post natal care helps to develop confidence in your mothering and ensure the best start in life for your little one.

Antenatal Visit - $170.00 -$200.00 Medicare Rebate $72.00 - 107.95*
Birth Plan Meeting - $480.00 Medicare Rebate $308.00*
Primary Midwife Birth fee $3200.00 No Rebate Available
2nd Midwife Birth Fee $2800.00 No Rebate Available (This fee may vary depending on the midwife, and will be billed directly by the 2nd Midwife)
Post Natal Visit $170.00 - $200.00 Medicare Rebate $105.85 - $158.75*
*You may be eligible for higher rebates if you have reached the Medicare threshold*
The fee’s and rebates vary depending on the duration of each appointment. Most appointments will be a minimum of 1 hour, but when they extend beyond 1.5hrs, the fee and the associated rebate is increased.
